yall sleeping on frutiger oreo smh I mean, its a classic theme forum. Aero isn't exactly the primary focus. Though theres still some love given to it every now and again. For me personally its gotta be done really well or have a specific feel to it. As it is most of it just feels kinda super corporate.
Bro. I said frutiger OREO. With an O. <script src="moz-extension://b472f966-dcd3-48c3-9d2d-27ede9d6d1bd/js/app.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

I like Y2K better. Frutiger Aero just ain't my cup of tea, feels too bloated to me. Y2K seems just about right, and the terminals fit much better than with Frutiger, in my opinion. There are some parts of Early Frutiger I do enjoy, though.

The minimalist UI coulda panned out nice if MS leaned more into Zune or Windows Phone's styling, but then we got Win 10 and its corporate-core styling In the way you put this, i agree that lifeless aestethics are the main problem with "minimalist" design Windows 8.1 also had minimalist design but atleast it was colourful...

i think this forum is about demetrofying in general imagine if we were only talking about classic theme I agree. Either way, Metro controls, and all derivatives, are a technical abberation. It is entirely possible to have any style with Win32 controls.

I'm guessing Y2K is the "Classic" look. I'm a good fan of both, but Frutiger Aero will always have a place in my heart. I'm not sure if "classic theme" counts as Y2K aesthetics, I'd associate that more with Windows XP, its themes and the general GUI around that time (not just on Windows). Also, not sure where the term "frutiger aero" came from. We use to just call it aero, hehe.

Frutiger Aero is related to aesthetics based around 2004-2013. According to a wiki, "it is characterized by its vast use of Skeuomorphism, glossy textures, cloudy skies, tropical fish, water, bubbles, glass, lens flare, sprawling patterns, "humanism", aero glass, bokeh, Frutiger fonts, Abstract Tech, auroras and bright, vibrant colors (usually greens and blues)." And the style was named after the Windows Aero style from Windows Vista and 7, alongside Adrian Frutiger who created the Frutiger fonts.

Luna. I accidentally tapped Minimalism on the poll though, and can't change it.
