After some advancements regarding the caption buttons on Windows 10, I decided to make a setup using a modded uDWM.dll file from vruh2 for 1903. The theme shown is a modded version of an Aero theme for Windows 10.

Whilst there are some changes in placement I can observe compared with 7, this appears to be the most accurate rendition yet. Amazing work. One question, how did you manage to get the explorer navigation (back & forward) buttons to look so intrinsically accurate, including restoring the "pill shadow"? Most other attempts at recreating Windows 7's UX in Windows 8 onwards don't look quite right with the alphanumeric states being very different.

The accurate back and forward buttons are actually done with OldNewExplorer's alternate buttons feature, with the OldNewExplorer dll's modified.

is it alright if you send me your windows 7 theme file? the theme that i'm using squishes the buttons vertically like this, even without them being maximised: (i've tried captionbuttonfixer, didn't help unfortunately )

Here is the modified theme i'm using. thanks man, so happy with how my windows 10 setup looks now
also, how did you get the little glyphs on the caption buttons the correct size? i was able to get the buttons themselves correct by replacing them with their proper windows 7 counterparts, but i couldn't figure out why the glyphs were so small, especially considering that they were the same size on the atlas as they were in win7

How do you get this working? I tried replacing the DLL files in System32 but it said they were in use. Sorry, I'm kinda new to all this stuff.

Sorry, I'm kinda new to all this stuff. you're gonna need to boot into a different OS to do this, the best way is by creating a bootable USB drive and using that to replace it that way (Hirens Boot works best)

Here is the modified theme i'm using. Sorry if it's a stupid question but, how do I use the theme? It's only an .msstyles file and I think I need both an .msstyles file and a .theme file for it to work.

Oh dear, I just can't decrease the amount of blur that much in 22H2, this is earlier version, right? If you tell me this is 22H2 I am gonna freak out
