It would be nice to have an Engineering & Reverse Engineering board on this forum, since I feel that technical posts don't fit in very well with boards like Customization General or Software General. One example of such a post would be "My research into DWM animations (UxTheme AMAP)", which doesn't really bring in anything new into customizing Windows' appearance per se, especially for the average user, but brings a whole lot to the table when it comes to modifying msstyles animations and the limitations Windows 10 brings, something that more technically oriented people such as myself can use to remove those limitations, or build upon further.
There's also some posts I'd like to make that I believe are too insignificant for any board on this forum, but could fit in perfectly in a "Minor discoveries and tweaks" thread in the suggested board.

Agreed, I love reading and writing about low-level details and this would be a nice board to have here. Naturally, it'd be a bit inactive, though. Not everyone here is into reverse engineering.

Agreed, I love reading and writing about low-level details and this would be a nice board to have here. Naturally, it'd be a bit inactive, though. Not everyone here is into reverse engineering. Inactivity isn’t a problem. It’s much better to have a board with 20 threads a year, than to have those threads be scattered across different boards and be drowned out by less technical posts (useful posts, which usually add something to the table), questions (which might lead to useful knowledge being spread around), or posts like “how can i makes widows xp build 2481 lookes like windows 10 build 19002??????” (which add nothing to the table and make the forum look bad on the surface in a lot of places). |
