Tried that on 8.1...no luck. Doesn't seem to make any visible changes, other than (possibly?) preventing the metro-style flyout from doing its job.

And yep, same problem even with many Win7 network-related dlls and Win7 explorer put into the same directory. It won't work. Alternatives such as PE Network Manager and NetSetMan exist though.

Dear user, I'm reaching out to ask for your support regarding the Windows 7 Network Flyout. I've posted a potential solution in another forum thread. In a demo version of Windows 8, I found a file named "VAN8.dll" containing the old Windows 7 Network Flyout, which runs parallel to the "VAN.dll" Windows 8 Network Flyout. If you're still interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a look. Link to the forum post: winclassic.net/thread/1623/windows-network-pane-on-10?page=1&scrollTo=16890Perhaps someone has an idea or a solution on how to make the VAN8.dll work on Windows 10. I'm looking forward to your visit.

If you replace van.dll and pnidui.dll with ones from 7 you will get full 7 flyout back on builds that still have it.

I attempted to replace Van.DLL, Van.DLL.MUI from Windows 7 to Windows 10 22H2, however nothing happens, the icon disappears from the taskbar, the "show system icons" in settings crashes when trying to open it, when porting the legacy taskbar page, it greys out the Network Icon, and the Metro interface still comes up in the Settings app. If theres any info that I am missing, or any updates come to this, please let me know :]

Maybe it relies on more DLLs?

Maybe it relies on more DLLs? I did also test pnidui.dll that was shown in the linked post, ported both the DLL and MUI, but it didn't change the outcome unfortunately

Hi, yes, I have the same problem. It doesn't work in version Build 8148 anymore. The question is, what's causing it? Are there any other files accessing "pnidui.dll"? Or can you imagine solving the problem with the "Windhawk" software?
