Another suggestion: add classic consent.exe (the UAC prompt) from an older Win10 release. Does the classic UAC tweak not work on the latest Windows 10 build? I haven't tested, so I wouldn't know. Edit:Ah, it seems that they did in fact remove it in the Creators Update. That's a shame. Look on the bright side: Atleast the UWP-styled one works with the Classic Theme :V

This was working just like in your screenshots when I ran it the first time. What I did was to not have ClassicThemeA.exe running and then I ran the batch with admin privileges. I don't know if that was the way to do it but that made it work like a charm. Then I restarted my PC and now the taskbar is a mess like when you simply run ClassicThemeA. Now I want to find out what I'm doing wrong... I'm wondering if this has something to do with my Scheduled Tasks? These are the tasks I have

These are the tasks I have I am not sure what the tasks Classic and Classic2 are. They are probably causing the issue. The tasks my script creates are named Classic_0 and Classic_1 and have no author I think those other two tasks probably restart explorer or something (which breaks the taskbar because it can't work in clasic theme) To avoid this problem, my tasks tasks don't enable classic theme until explorer has loaded the desktop. ----- Please try to disable the tasks Classic and Classic2, then run my script as admin and select Enable Then reboot Let me know

Sorry for such a newb question, but will it also work for non-english versions of Win10 since i've saw that it would also add old versions of calc etc but i'm not sure if it's English only.

This script does add english versions mspaint, wordpad and calc. (I haven't gotten around to adding in other languages / finding a universal solution yet) You can disable this by editing the script in notepad, and changing some of the 1's to 0's in the configuration section. Script has been updated with DwmUnExtendFrame and Tahoma font.

I have an one hypothesis as to counter this tho by adding all of the languages for the apps(or at least most common languages) and based on searching on what language of windows is used replace the files with that.

Yes I could do that - the isssue I ran into was that when I use the debugger key to replace mspaint, wordpad etc.. The parameter isn't passed to the other exe file (so opening files e.g bmp file in mspaint doesn't work unless you open the file from within the mspaint itself) I could replace the mspaint.exe file in system32 and syswow64 (and the mui files), but i'd rather avoid replacing files in the windows directory.

If you take these applications from Vista, then the versions are the same for all languages. Non-English languages would need a .mui file in addition. Those files, if added, would not disrupt English language usage.

I previously tried to use the imagefileexecutionoptions\debugger key to replace programs, but this causes parameters to not be passed to the program.

Hallo 6sicsix,
I just tried your .bat script on a virtual machine Win10-1607. Great work, thank you. There are 2 problems I noticed:
1. Establishing your script for more than one user is complicated, because the scheduled tasks classic_0 and classic_1 have to run under the specific user name. I overcame this problem by copying and renameing these tasks for each user. 2. As I found, the script has not only to run initially with administrator rights (affirmed via UAC prompt), the user's account must also be member of the administrators group! I prefer daily working as a simple user (especially for my sons to avoid inadvertant changes to the system). Would it be possible for you to modify your script to work on a simple user account?
