Basically I am trying to make a transformation pack that sadly has to mimic Windows 7 taskbar. But I do not want my users to face paid software in a transformation pack. Are there any alternatives?

There is a project to port Windows 7's explorer to 10, but it is in early development. and it's release date is unknown.

The File Explorer won't get replaced if you swap Explorer using that method.

Nah, you definitely need to use StartIsBack, you can find a cracked version or something similar, since using classicshell/openshell isn't the best choice if you want to do a good mimic of the 7's Taskbar

you can do it by grab this file to startisback folder, then reopen startisback (if opened) to see results.

Wow, aubymori is a genius for porting Windows 7's Explorer to Windows 10 as a project It's a group effort, wiktorwiktor12 and Ittr did most of the work. aubymori did you see the DM I sent you about this? winclassic.net/thread/2505/various-stuff-windows-8-1 I want the same thing with Windows 8.1's Taskbar to happen and replace Windows 10's and 11's shitty UI with Windows 7's or 8.1's UI The MSstyles, look and feel of the taskbar, making the Windows boarders part of the titlebars and Windows unlike Windows 10/11 I want Windows 7 and 8.1's DWM and uDWM in Windows 10 and 11 without them crashing and going to a BOSD ever time. I already have files in the achive.org and mediafire so you can use those files to assist in the project we need the Windows 7 and 8.1 File Explorers to run as the Main Desktop Environment for Windows 10 and 11 Systems. In other words I tried copying all the files the UI shell files of Windows 8.1 into Windows 10 and it broke Windows 10 the OS didn't seem to like that. I choose Windows 8.1 cause I thought it would have a more likely chance of working. Also do you have the Github towards this? I really despise Startisback++ I hate that program I want the Windows 7 taskbar or Windows 8.1 Styled Taskbar without having to use that garbage excuse of a paid program. Sorry for my harsh words I've been trying to experiment with trying to get the Windows 8.1 Desktop UI to work but nothing so far... that means Windows 7's UI wouldn't work either.

Pretty sure most people won't appreciate it if you randomly pester them to check out your post. As to answer what you said, since the taskbar in these versions is based on a .msstyles then you can just make a windows 8.1 taskbar msstyles and it'll work.

To get a taskbar quite close to Windows 7 without using StartIsBack, you have to use Open-Shell and this mod. If it is with the classic theme, you must use the same mod but with the patched version of Open-Shell and this mod.
The result is not as good as with StartIsBack, but passable.
