Good morning,
I'm writing to anyone who can assist me with this, at one point I was able to get the Windows 7850 File Explorer with Ribbon UI working on Windows 7 almost 5 years ago. I never did a video or write down how I did it and right now I'm kicking myself in the rear for not doing it. I've been all over the internet trying to collect clues and understanding of how to patch Windows 7 with 7850 explorer files and dlls. It does not have to be 7850's file explorer but would love to see a completed official explorer.exe with the ribbon ui ported in from 8 or 8DP to work on 7 x64. I've started tinkering but failed and failed. May I have someone's expertise to resolve this issue once and for all. No I do not want to use Syler, BExplorer, or any other third party tools. Yes I love Ribbon UI in 8 - 10 unlike the Windows 7 File explorer UI or 11's. My next step this doesn't take off is to try to spoof 7850's build using Windows 7's Extended Kernel to think that its 8.1 and then try to install Windows Updates from Windows Server 2012 R2 to force update the OS. The build is buggy but its the closest thing to what I want out of Windows. Yes I use Windows 7 - 11 dual booted on machine, I know I'm nuts but when you got 5tbs to spare in a MacBook Pro, hell why not? These are my reasons, thank you for reading and please help. Thank you for your time and I refuse to listen to anyone who said it can't be done.... I accomplished this before but can't remember how I did it. This is an example of BExplorer but rather use the official explorer.exe from any of the Windows 8 builds on Windows 7.
