Is it possible to port the Microsoft Confidential watermark to Windows 8?
I was trying to port the Microsoft Confidential watermark to Windows 8 (build 9200), by using build 9200 EEAP release's "shell32.dll" and modified shell32.dll.mui files, but it doesn't work and leaves me with black screen after it boots up.

The system would likely bugcheck if that were the case. I remember doing it via the "shell32a.dll" trick. Basically, you rename original shell32.dll to shell32a.dll and change KnownDLLs in the registry to point to shell32a.dll instead.
