When using the "never combine" setting from the taskbar properties, along with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker ("Combine grouped buttons" is checked), I'm able to combine similar items on the taskbar while still displaying their names (i.e. "File Explorer" instead of it just being an icon with no text). However, when I click on it, none of the names of the individual folders display.
Is there a way to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated. If it can't be done, I can just go back to not combining them at all, but I like the convenience of being able to combine them while still seeing the text and not just the icons.

This is the only major issue on Windows 8.x, as far as I'm aware. I don't know of a proper solution, but in my experience, enabling Aero Peek makes it quite a bit more bearable.

I see. The picture I took actually has "Peek" on in the performance/display settings, but when I try to turn on Aero Peak in the taskbar properties, it's greyed out and I can't do it. Any ideas?
Edit: Never mind, got it working. This does help a bit, but hopefully we get a proper solution one day.
