Well, the borders are Win2K borders, not Win95. Also it's 55px wide while it should be 54px. Edit: The text is 5px away from the logo while it should be 3px. Also the logo AND the text should go 1px higher

A freshly installed Win95 VM.

Cheers! Small update, a few things I've altered/added: - Context menu "Active Desktop" and it's sub-menu's: 1. Customize My Desktop - Loads up 98 Plus! Unlike other people who've put 98P on W10, I didn't install this (and you really shouldn't tbh) - I simply took the files off a 98 VM. I also reshacked the dialog to identify the version of Windows as Win2k. Includes all 98 Plus themes, of all which had to be edited to make them work correctly. A few still need small edits done though. 2. New Desktop Icons - Loads up the Desktop icon Settings dialog, which I've reshacked to appear more Win2k era correct. 3. Show Web Content - Loads up Seamonkey browser. - Shut down DIalog Replica : 100% non-working replica of the W98 Shutdown dialog. If I could code, it would work, but alas, I can't, so this is the best I can do. My biggest mission now is doing my start menu, but I've still got a long way to go tbh!

How did you change the program groups icons in the start menu?

I'll see what I can do Ah nice. I'd be appreciative of anything you can cook up, thank you very much. anixx : I didn't change them - every entry in my "Programs" directory are custom items. Every item has been added by hand, with allows greater flexibility, but is extremely time-consuming.

I had to re-install W10, so I went with 1607 LTSB this time. "Documents" section leads to not only documents. Start menu is still a WIP and nearly back to what I had before; just need to resort the Programs and Favorites sections and it's back to the way it used to be. "Settings" section is fully restored as it was before, and yes, all this links back to their respected Control Panel items, native to W10 and the classic ones from W98/2k. Context menus are now cleaner, with useless clutter removed. Desktop icons are now at the correct size. Explorer is still a massive WIP; need to make up some custom icons for the address text (which will replace the big stop button) and a Go button icon, but I'm having difficulty getting Quero to accept them. I'm not touching the computer icon in the status bar, no matter how bad I wish I could. Credits: ROB: The site, icons, scripts, help threads. Anixx: Assorted scripts, help threads, help here and there. Splitwirez: Assorted scripts, help threads, and other stuff. Baloo: For convincing me take the plunge into installing Classic theme in the first place. Spitfirex86: His Reactos taskbar script, and other ahk scripts. 6sicsix: His Win10 Automated Classic Theme bat script. Powerplayer: For the Win2k System configuration file. To Do:
- Fix up the Start menu by completing the "Programs" and "Favorites" sections.
- Sort out the Explorer address bar with new icons for "Address" and the Go button.
- Re-install every program I used to have.
EDIT: Had some time, so did the "Send to" folder:
EDIT II: Small tweak to the desktop context menu "new" items: EDIT IV: Fugly icon next to "Empty Recycle Bin" removed: Excellent work putting this together. Which windows colors .reg file are you using in this screenshot? How are you changing the colors of the explorer toolbar icons to that silver / grey color? Also would you be able to share your Classic Shell Menu settings using the Backup and Save to XML file option? It would really help me setting it up. Thank you

Thank you I can share my Classic Shell settings sure np, but I'd need to adjust the XML file beforehand to remove some stuff. Give me a few hours and I'll attach it to this post. I'll do the same for what icons and my settings for Classic Explorer as well while I'm at it. As for what Windows colours I'm using, the active tille bar colour 1 is RGB 0, 31, 31 and colour 2 is RGB 0, 128, 128. "3D Objects' is 192, 192, 192. Highlight colour is 0, 128, 128. Font I use is MS Sans Serif, size 8. EDIT: Icons and setting files attached.

Edit: I'm using Open Shell 4.4.142
While trying to import the Menu Settings, I get this error: Yeah, I most likely broke the file when I edited out my start menu items from it (there's other 800 items and I removed them because there are of no use to anyone but me). Here's the first part of the XML file, use notepad to open it and alter each value so it matches mine: <?xml version="1.0"?> <Settings component="StartMenu" version="4.3.1"> <MenuStyle value="Classic1"/> <Computer value="Show"/> <Documents value="Hide"/> <Network value="Menu"/> <StartScreenShortcut value="0"/> <HighlightNew value="0"/> <HighlightNewApps value="0"/> <CheckWinUpdates value="0"/> <SameSizeColumns value="1"/> <ShowNextToTaskbar value="0"/> <SmallIconSize value="16"/> <LargeIconSize value="32"/> <MaxMainMenuWidth value="135"/> <MaxMenuWidth value="26"/> <OverrideDPI value="96"/> <MainMenuAnimationSpeed value="400"/> <SubMenuAnimationSpeed value="400"/> <SubMenuAnimationAlways value="1"/> <FontSmoothing value="None"/> <MenuShadow value="0"/> <EnableGlass value="0"/> <SkinC1 value="Windows Classic Captions - Original"/> <SkinVariationC1 value="Windows 2000 Advanced Server"/> <SkinOptionsC1> <Line>USER_IMAGE=0</Line> <Line>USER_NAME=0</Line> <Line>CENTER_NAME=0</Line> <Line>SMALL_ICONS=0</Line> <Line>THICK_BORDER=1</Line> </SkinOptionsC1>
