The screenshot above looks like the taskbar is classic-themed but the classic theme support in EP settings is not enabled.

It’s because SCT is set up to start SCT Taskbar, but it doesn’t work on their pc. In this case, Jackal can exploit the fact that SCT Taskbar doesn’t load on their machine, but normally this configuration would load SCT Taskbar. If you disable SCT Taskbar in SCT, it will behave differently. It will not restart explorer after enabling Classic Theme. I’m not saying there’s no way to use SCT with ExplorerPatcher’s taskbar (you could just restart explorer in the SCT script files), but there is no supported way yet.

On Windows 11 you do not need a special taskbar, the default taskbar works just well under classic theme with Explorer Patcher. Doesn't matter. Jackal is using SCT, which does not support using Explorers taskbar in Classic Theme. ExplorerPatcher taskbar support is planned however! The code is partially there (enabling is implemented, disabling isn't), it just needs to be tested (I only have one Windows 11 install, which I don't want Classic Theme on). The Jackal , you can PM me here or on Discord if you would like to try/test that out. Apologies for the late reply, but it's been a really bad week for me. Anyways, yeah sure, I'll test it for you, though tbh I'm not really a fan of the default (W10) taskbar regardless what it looks like. |

Sorry for the delay, here's the picture: This is the lastest update. Afaik, it's only the context menu that does it. Still need to disable immersive menus via EP's menu for legacy context menus to show non-blank. Also, sadly SCT taskbar still doesn't load for me. On Windows 11 you do not need a special taskbar, the default taskbar works just well under classic theme with Explorer Patcher. Yeah, I don't really like it, sorry. |

Basically, I saw this thread which is an amazing solution for Classic Theme and decided I wanted to create a GUI for it. It's a simple .NET app which does the following things: - Installs and configures either SCT Taskbar or Open-Shell and StartIsBack to emulate a Classic taskbar/start menu experience
- Enables/Disables Classic Theme with a press of a button (or command)
- Runs Classic Theme in a way that both Explorer and Immersive apps run normally, without any bad looking theme files.
- Automatically enables Classic Theme on boot-up if it was enabled before shutdown
- It can install all these utilities when requested:
- Classic Task Manager
- 7+ Taskbar Tweaker
- ExplorerContextMenuTweaker
- T-Clock
- Folder Options X
- RibbonDisabler
How the Classic Theme works
Winlogon uses a shared memory section for handling themes. By removing access to this memory section the Winlogon process can no longer manage themes so the default theme is used, the Classic Theme. It's better then suspending the Desktop Window Manager because that bugs out the whole system while this still uses DWM to keep the system running smooth.

Command Line Usage
SimpleClassicTheme.exe {ARGS..}You can supply an infinite number of arguments into SCT. It will first parse all of the arguments, and it will then execute them one by one. I won't cover all arguments here as there's quite a bit of them. Run SCT with --help to see an extensive list of arguments available.

Hey, major issue with windows 8.1 (at least on my PC) but simple classic theme gets to the screen pictured and then when i click yes it closes and doesnt come up with the wizard. Attachments:

What is the latest supported Windows 10 build at this moment? I have tryed to set simple classic theme into my Win10 21H2, but it seems that SCT not working here, it does nothing.

21H2 is fully supported. Are you sure it's doing nothing? Do note that only newly opened programs will have classic theme applied.
