- Refactored a lot of the code so it's easier to work with
- Compile as x64 to fix ExplorerContextMenuTweaker bug
- Added the Windows 98 logo as the app logo
- Re-add compatibility message

I just tried to run it on Windows 8 and got an error message: "Insufficient memory to continue operation of program." I have 32 GB of RAM, so I'm pretty sure I have enough Here's the debugging info:

Hmmm. Seems that I removed the compatibilty messages. It should give something like this:
+-------------------------------------------+ | | | This application is only compatible with | | Windows 10 v1803 and up | | | | | | +-----+ | | | Ok | | | +-----+ | | | +-------------------------------------------+ Will add it to the main post too!

Do you have any plans to make it work with Windows 8? It seems like that would be the easiest one to do it on, since an update won't make you have to totally rewrite it.

Actually, I don't even know why you got that error. anixx stated in this thread that it IS compatible with Windows 8.1, so no idea why it wouldn't work on Windows 10. Might look into it in the future because I'm actually quite busy lately.

Actually now that I think of it, it might be that the global section in memory the program is trying to access is outside of the first 4GB of address space. (For me that never happened because I only have 4GB) Because it WAS an x32 application that would be out of memory bounds. Do you want me to send you a version of the app that is x64 and doesn't give the compatibilty error? We could test that out, and if it works it is officially compatible with Windows 8 and higher

If you click "Yes", does it show an error?

Mistakes have been made. The version labeled b9 was kind of b8.1 as its NOT compiled as x64. Fixed the download

With the new version, it tells me that it's only compatible with Windows 10 as soon as a launch it.

Well done, 1337ftw. For me it's a great one click solution to bring back the good old times. Even the context menus in b9 are now working. Because Windows Defender: I just added the SimpleClassicTheme.exe to the whitelist and enabling process is still working for me.

There should be one, namely: "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows Defender\DisableAntiSpyware" which is a DWORD value that has to be set to 1, else the program will refuse to load the CPL because Defender would block it anyways. In your case I would just create that value in registry to make the program happy.
About the "without my permission", it clearly states it:
Wanna disable Defender and restart
