I really appreciate your effort to create a simple tool to change all the settings and patch all the files necessary for a classic theme to work on Windows 10 automatically. BUT I'm afraid it's nothing but a big mess. On Win10 32Bit you need to enable the classic theme at least 3 times (i.e. press the "enable" button 3 times) otherwise only some windows use the classic theme, the rest still uses the Windows 10 theme. If you choose to have your tool start with Windows, it will not really apply any settings, except for maybe the taskbar (which doesn't look very classic-like). Even if you choose NOT to start SCT with Windows, it will still start with Windows (but it won't apply the classic theme either, in this case, you wouldn't expect that anyway, of course). Some of the ahk files seem to work, some others don't.
When the classic theme is enabled there are no working context menus which is of course completely inacceptable. And yes, I know it's not your fault, it's just that no one needs a classic theme with no context menus, so on 32Bit Windows it's completely useless. So I've installed Win10 64Bit on a virtual machine and, lo and behold, it doesn't seem to work there much better. It needs Net Framework, which I had to install (I'm not a big fan) but even though the installation was successful, it doesn't recognize net framework and therefore still complains about net framework missing. Seemingly, without net framework (even though it's there) all it does is to apply the classic theme to itsself (the sct window). Other than that it's useless.
Please don't get me wrong, as I said, I really appreciate your effort and also that you share what you've created with everybody for free, but as of now, your tool isn't as useful as I hoped it would be.

nonameneeded Sorry for the late response: This has nothing to do with SCT. From the moment you enable Classic Theme, normal Aero gets disabled. But any programs that already have Aero loaded will keep using Aero because they already have access to the ThemeSection handle. Any new programs opened will not have access to this handle, therefore falling back to Classic Theme. The issue you had was because you didn't restart all programs, which made them still display Aero. This is true for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. This sounds like you had SCT configured to start with Windows. From the moment you configure SCT to do that, it needs to be completely uninstalled before it will stop doing that. This is indeed a stupid limitation and will be addressed in SCT 1.7. AHK has never been great in SCT and the scripts used don't work that well. AHK files will be removed in SCT 1.7, in favour of a C++ replacement that'll be made somewhere in the (far) future. SCT itself only requires .NET Framework 4.8, which is included in Windows 10 by default. SCT Taskbar and RetroBar on the other hand need .NET Core 3.1 and .NET 5.0 respectively. This is one of the biggest made mistakes with SCT: You do not need to install .NET Framework, but rather the .NET Desktop Runtime. I'm still tinkering with ways to automatically install this to avoid confusion on requirements, but Microsoft's URL scheme for .NET is a bit of a mess and I still need to figure out how it exactly works. This probably also is the issue that you don't restart all programs. SCT can't apply Classic Theme to a window that is using Aero, because it cannot remove existing handles to a memory section. Therefore this issue will always exists, which is why SCT offers functionality to run at boot.

You're right. You need to install Net Framework SDK, not the normal net framework stuff. Anyway, I've now installed Win10 64bit in a virtual machine and even though I couldn't apply the ExplorerPatcher stuff from within SCT (the necessary files just weren't there even though I installed them, at least, that's what I thought) I was able to install explorerpatcher manually and reactivate the context menus. None of the taskbars seem to work, though. This is how the simple classic taskbar looks like:
(oh ok, it would need some additional net framework stuff...)

Here's a little look at it working in action: youtu.be/uG5x3tiFmeAThis doesn't showcase the multi-user part because, A: I haven't made it yet and B: it's hard to show that in a video. The multi-user part can easily be showcased if you use a virtual machine (google Virtualbox) and start recording software on your host (not the virtual machine)

So, SCT crashes without fail whenever told to download FEH, ExplorerPatcher, and RetroBar.

After installing/uninstalling SimpleClassicTheme, my Ctrl-Alt-Del and sign in screen accent color is stuck at default blue. Any fix for this? Running Windows 10 build 19045.1889.

When I go to configure colors and change it to the Windows 98 Border style or anything in there for that matter it just locks up and I have to end the task. I cannot proceed any further on Windows 11 21H2

Still doesn't work, I am gonna have to wait for an update. What exactly isn't working ? I get that context menu bug and I cannot even get the borders and stuff to apply at all. Like when I hit Configure Colors and apply Windows Classic or anything really SCT freezes and I have to force end it. Also the Ribbon turns white and the forward back buttons disappear.

These are known issues. The context menus issue can be solved by using ExplorerPatcher : github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcherAfter installing it, uncheck the Use immersive menus when displaying Windows 10 context menus box in the File Explorer section, and uncheck the Skin taskbar and tray pop-up menus box in the System tray section. For the color\metric configuration window issue, use WinPaletter to configure colors, NoMeiroUI to configure fonts, and ReMetric to configure window metrics instead. github.com/Abdelrhman-AK/WinPalettergithub.com/Tatsu-syo/noMeiryoUIgithub.com/Tatsu-syo/ReMetricsFinally, for the ribbon issue, use RibbonDisabler to disable it; this tool is included in SCT. Once the ribbon is disabled, remember to log of into your session.

I am convinced the latest version of Windows 10 and Windows 11(Which I am on) Is not configured to be customized anymore. Is it even worth downgrading to 10? I am so sick of this stuff not working.

This is normal, because the purpose of WinPaletter is only to change colors. Are you using the correct version ? github.com/Abdelrhman-AK/WinPaletter/releases/tag/v1.0.4.1For fonts and window metrics, I've given you the tools to use (noMeiryoUI and ReMetric).
