I recently found out about this skin, it looks and works pretty good, friend list still the same though. I always wanted to use Steam with old school style for nostalgia reasons, and thanks to the person who made this, here it is. github.com/ungstein/OG-Steam

Due to Steam moving away from VGUI elements, this skin is no longer usable.

Due to Steam moving away from VGUI elements, this skin is no longer usable. Just looked over a video regarding the new beta UI, it's basically what I expected - purely HTML like with the Epic Games Store loader.

Id recommend disabling steam updates to avoid it for the time being until it u have to update

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's pretty similar to the Panorama UI that was introduced in CS:GO, iirc (might even be the same). I actually wouldn't mind the switch to it as long as it allowed for custom skinning. With CSS, you could easily mimic the appearance of the old Steam UI or existing Steam skins in general. Sadly, it doesn't look like that's an option with the current implementation. Really hoping Valve adds support for it, though. Also, this skin looks awesome. I actually created a very similar one years ago, but sadly my hard drive died before I could finish it and publish it anywhere.

Well it seems that Valve has now removed skinning options entirely. That's super disappointing, hope to see it return one day.

People will definitely find a way in theming the new Steam client frontend, as it's just an electron instance. It is most certainly going to be theme-able with custom CSS styling, it can be done because it has already been done with the Library redesign. Even though it won't be the same as VGUI, it's the best you would have.

Another crap Electron app. This platform sucks. Tons of memory used just to display text.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of having a bunch of Electron apps running at once. We don't need a bunch of apps consuming a ton of memory, just makes things feel more needlessly bloated now People will definitely find a way in theming the new Steam client frontend, as it's just an electron instance. It is most certainly going to be theme-able with custom CSS styling, it can be done because it has already been done with the Library redesign. Even though it won't be the same as VGUI, it's the best you would have. CSS styling can be quite capable, so a switch to that isn't necessarily a bad thing in my eyes. It'd be nice to have official skinning support for it like they did with VGUI, though.

At this point, it's just a matter of someone re-making this design for the new version of SFP.
