I'm using a windows classic theme from windowblinds (https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/9233/) as SCT was far too glitchy for my liking but I can't figure out how to get 3D boarders on my start menu.

You have to use UPMCalc, and / or check the "Use 3D Menu" in Open-Shell Configuration ; however, I do not know if all this works with WindowsBlind classic theme. I would like to put the things in clear; SCT is not the classic theme, it's a tool to activate the classic theme. He is existeting more tools for that; SCT is supposed to be the easiest use, but it does not suit you, there are ClassicThemeTray with the Anixx method, and AutomaticClassicThemeScript. On the other hand, the issues with the classic theme have almost all been corrected ; almost all Windows 8.1/10/11 works with the classic theme.

So now I am using the auto script thing and Ive noticed one of my favorite things from windowblinds isnt there. I dont know what its called but I really like the original hover thing where you go over and icon on the desktop and it had lines going around it. Can I add this back?

I do not understand everything about what you're talking about, but I think you're talking about that: Without the classic theme : highlighting and selection with lines going around. With the classic theme ; no highlight and selection without lines going around If that's it your problem, I think there is no other solution than to continue to use WindowsBlind classic theme, and no longer use the real classic theme.

Yeah thats what Im talking about but iirc windows 98 did have a thing surrounding the icon but it was small black lines.
