You could try using 1809 LTSC, in my experience the only visually broken thing I've encountered is the tree view glyphs in explorer not appearing. Explorer itself worked perfectly fine, which is a good thing since it seemed to be broken when it originally released.

Also, I think the tree view glyphs also disappear in 1903+, and can be fixed using (Open-Shell) Classic Explorer. But there's also the problem of context menus (the registry way of doing it doesn't work in 1809+), which can ONLY be fixed with ExplorerContextMenuTweaker: github.com/rikka0w0/ExplorerContextMenuTweaker/releasesEdit: And about ExplorerContextMenuTweaker, can someone fork it and improve it? Seems like the developer abandoned it in favour of a modified immersive menu that barely looks like the real thing and doesn't work with classic theme.

Usually it starts working once you right click a file/folder with that. But the main point is that they fixed the classic theme outright not working on Explorer, and whatever else they ended up breaking.

Too bad. It is hard to use classic theme with older versions of Windows 10 while keeping hardware & software compatibility. I'll try LTSC 2019 (also LTSB 2016 if possible) and see if I can do something with it (Including 1809 problems mentioned here or other places). I'll going to set up VM, and also actual computer if needed. Anyway, I probably need to do much research. If everything went wrong, I'll live with the latest version. My Mind: I wish they add back registry tweak of context menu. But that would be unlikely... Edit: And about ExplorerContextMenuTweaker, can someone fork it and improve it? Seems like the developer abandoned it in favour of a modified immersive menu that barely looks like the real thing and doesn't work with classic theme. Abandoned? I was expecting it to progress.

It hasn't been updated since 2018, and I did see some posts relating to the modified immersive context menu after that, so it's abandoned.

Windows 10 S is the lightest. But this version only supports Windows Store apps and mostly works like a tablet. Other versions of Windows 10 like Home or Pro is almost the same. No huge difference. Windows 10 Home might seem lighter but there is no huge difference. "Version", not "Edition".

OK, Somebody knows if it is posible to restore the Copying, Save as, etc. dialogs on modern Windows Versions?
Example of what I mean:
On programs like Resource Hacker the Open dialog shows as the XP one, but in others like MSPaint (Extracted directly from Windows XP) It doesn't.

Most of the time, Windows redirects the legacy open/save dialogs to the modern ones. To disable this, go to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Comdlg32 (create Comdlg32 if it isn't created) Then make a DWORD named "NoPlacesBar" and set it to "1". This does get rid of the places bar in legacy open/save dialogs, but most open/save dialogs should now be the legacy ones.

I'm talking about a way (maybe via registry setting, AHK script, or something else) to offset the default start button's position by x pixels. I'm talking about the Windows 8.1 start button, specifically.
I've tried editing the image in CustomizerGod, but all this achieves is letting you move the flag image around within the button, and doesn't let you move the actual entire button.
I'm not talking about using a custom button (and achieving this kind of result that way) in Classic/Open Shell (or similar software). I want to know if it's possible to actually move the start button around without having to replace it at all.
Anyone know?

I have a Visual Basic app that does stuff and I was wondering if there's a way to make SetWindowTheme effect other applications?
E.g. SetWindowTheme("notepad.exe", " ", " ")

You need to firstly find the HWND (window handle) of the target window. You can use EnumThreadWindows to enumerate all window handles of the windows in all threads of a process. I don't know VB.NET but here's the C# equivalent:
delegate bool EnumThreadDelegate(IntPtr hWnd, IntPtr lParam);
[DllImport("user32.dll")] static extern bool EnumThreadWindows(int dwThreadId, EnumThreadDelegate lpfn, IntPtr lParam);
static IEnumerable<IntPtr> EnumerateProcessWindowHandles(int processId) { var handles = new List<IntPtr>();
foreach (ProcessThread thread in Process.GetProcessById(processId).Threads) EnumThreadWindows(thread.Id, (hWnd, lParam) => { handles.Add(hWnd); return true; }, IntPtr.Zero);
return handles; }
[DllImport("UxTheme.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Unicode)] static extern IntPtr SetWindowTheme(IntPtr hWnd, string pszSubAppName, string pszSubIdList);
[STAThread] static void Main(string[] args) { foreach (var handle in EnumerateProcessWindowHandles( Process.GetProcessesByName("explorer").First().Id)) { SetWindowTheme(handle, " ", " "); } }
EDIT: I should say this code is taken from StackOverflow and modified to OP's use case:

Did you select Classic Menu (I think it's called one column menu or something in the options) in the settings?
