I'm literally losing my shit rn. This is only my opinion, but I think that rather than arguing on the best way to activate the classic theme, it would be more judicious to offer the visitor of the forum a objective comparative table of the different methods/software to activate the classic theme. A bit like here with the comparison of start menus : www.classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2399I can take care of starting the table (of course, only if everyone agrees). SCT actually uses the same method as ClassicThemeTray. The later is simply more lightweight. The tutorial would work with any program.

I think that rather than arguing on the best way to activate the classic theme I just find it extremely annoying how when anyone needs help with Simple Clasisc Theme, anixx goes 'oh yeah just use explorer patcher lol'. This is my spooky number-th (666th) post. The problems with right-click menus with classic theme are common for any software that enables classic theme in Windows 10 and Windows 11. And there is currently only one comprehensive solution: Explorer Patcher. SCT or any other software cannot fix it without EP. The other (older) solution is Context Menu Tweaker, but it is buggy (does not work for the first time) and in all ways inferrior to Explorer Patcher. And this discussion is irrelevant to whether one uses SCT or not. So, if a person uses Classic theme on current Win10 or Win11, the only good advice is to use EP in addition to the software that enables classic theme. Or do you want users of your software to experience unnecessary problems only because you do not want the solution to be mentioned in your thread?

I didn't mean to start an arguement. And yes, I'm really confused now. Is the right-click menu bug also the reason why none of my tray icons are clickable at all? I only installed the newest version of SCT. Joined the forum yesterday, and completly new to this, so im trying my best to figure this out.
Edit: I'm not sure this is the right place to discuss with further. Maybe I should head to the SCT thread? But it has to be said that Lezr's setup is my gold standard

I think that rather than arguing on the best way to activate the classic theme The point is, I'm not arguing on what the best method is, that is purely personal preference. I just find it extremely annoying how when anyone needs help with Simple Clasisc Theme, anixx goes 'oh yeah just use explorer patcher lol'. I don't care if you like SCT or not, just don't push EP-method in conversations about SCT. You're not adding to the conversation, in fact, most of the time you're just making people more confused on how to do stuff. This is my spooky number-th (666th) post.I understand your point of view, but what I mean is precisely that the current situation is too confused for any visitor. Ilest currently difficult for a new user to choose the method that suits him best. I actually think that the way that anixx to advise his method adds confusion. I also think that you are not sufficiently clear on certain SCT functions. Finally, I think that there should not be such a division between Explorerpatcher is SCT. Explorerpatcher is not incompatible with SCT due to its design.

SCT is not in conflict with EP, and the use of EP does not exclude (or should not) the use of SCT.

I only installed the newest version of SCT. I do not know what program do you use for taskbar. If it is SCT Taskbar, shipped with it, you should ask its author. If it is Retrobar or something, ask them. If you use Windows Explorer taskbar with Explorer Patcher, all the tray icons are clickable. Explorer Patcher also allows you to chose between Win11, Win10 and Win7 flyouts on those icons.

From the screenshot it seems that you are using Windows Explorer for the taskbar, and also TaskBowFree, is this correct? Are you using EP?

Then this setup is similar to the one described in the linked tutorial in EP github. If you did not know, EP now includes the functionality to enable SysListView32 from FolderOptionsX, so I stopped using FOX.

Could that be because of interference with Open shell?

Ok, fair enough. I installed SimpleClassicTheme, but it didnt make my explorer window looking like windows 2000, the taskbar icons are not clickable, and rightclick sub menu is broken. Any idea how to fix those? Besides that everything is looking like yours besides the icon pack that I havent installed yet. Right click menus can be fixed by Explorer Patcher. Here is a tutorial on how to use Explorer Patcher with classic theme: github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/discussions/167-i try to use it, but it just says "specified modiual cannot be found" (I'm terrible at spelling some words btw)
