Some applications under Windows 11 use curled corners and big shadows even when running under Windows Classic theme. These include Telegram Desktop and FileLocator Lite. I found that this can be mitigated either by * Setting compatibility layer to Windows 8 on the compatibility tab. or * Setting the compatibility layer to Win8RTMVersionLie via registry (it is less invasive than Win8RTM layer) or * Setting the global environment variable __COMPAT_LAYER with value Win8RTMVersionLie: The later will affect all programs. P.S. It seems, Telegram Desktop is affected only by user's (not system's) environment configuration.

That works for window borders however some apps specifically code in rounded corners to be used when it detects the app is running on Windows 11.

More apps that don't meet Windows UI specs. Kind of like apps that hard-coded say 3D gray buttons in the 1990s, apps that hard-coded Luna theme colors in the 2000s, or apps that hard-coded UWP elements (while it's of Win32 programs). Stupidity in all its glory .
