(Windows 11) As the subject says, I click apply and the window stops responding. If I spam click the X it says 'Windows Host Process Rundll32 is not responding' Logging off / Restarting doesn't fix it. I am following this tutorial: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_7pqwf-gZM (3:57)
I haven't found any solution online and the only forum post about it has no replies.
Not sure what to do pls help

Firstly, the issue with the configuration panel breaking is being worked on: github.com/WinClassic/SimpleClassicTheme/issues/33#issuecomment-1119166551Secondly, the tutorial you linked is not how you should use SCT. As of version 1.6, SCT will automatically install RetroBar if you select it through the options, and it will automatically load it on boot for you as well. |

This is a known problem. The configuration of the metric windows with old applets are problematic in recent windows on physical machines (this works in virtual machines, this is the reason why it works on the tutorials of youtubers, which probably use virtual machines.). For window metrics, you can use this : github.com/Tatsu-syo/ReMetrics github.com/Tatsu-syo/noMeiryoUIFor colors, you can use old applets that do not support the change in window metrics, such as Thememaker ( archive.org/details/themak5_3 ), or the Windows NT 3.X configuration applet (as an attachment). This does not configure all colors. To do this, you must use SMACC ( github.com/Superfly-Inc/SMACC ), which supports all colors, but which does not apply them directly (SMACC proceed only to an inscription in the registry, without recharging it). MAIN.CPL (236.95 KB) The good news is that the problem will soon be solved, because leet will add a complete and functional configuration applet of colors and the metric of the windows in SimpleClassicTheme. |

The issue is not limited to physical machines, it can just as well happen on a virtual machine. It's just that some installed software that is running in the background might interfere with the theme-change notification being sent correctly. This is why it partially enables and then freezes. On VM's this occurs less because they have less software installed.

It seems to me that The Jackal had said (I don't know where) that NVIDIA graphic drivers sometimes caused issue with the window metric. |

I have an AMD GPU in my PC and an Intel iGPU in my MacBook and both experience the same issue. It's probably unrelated to that.
