Hi,
For SimpleClassicTheme.exe from objects.githubusercontent.com/ being on windows 8.1 pro, & trying the setup, it started to ask me .net runtime 5
i installed 5.0 in x64 version
& then, it asked me:
" .net desktop runtime" without version.. & i still cant finish installation not checking utilities. |

Well, it didn't ask you to install the .NET runtime. It asked you to install the .NET Desktop Runtime. It's a different runtime, which also contains UI stuff. You need that one for SCT Taskbar.

sorry but i've read it well, there was a clear need of installing .net 5 runtime before requesting desktop.
but even there, i'm still lost, cause like i told you, i installed desktop runtime 6.0 x64 & it didn't work..
so what does it need ?
desktop runtime x64 ? x86 ? v4 ? v5 ? v6 ?...

No, .NET Desktop Runtime 5.0.0 or newer. So version 6 is fine as well. |

looks amazing, i installed net desktop preview 7 x86 then, net runtime 6.0.5 x86 then net runtime 6.0.5 x64 since you both can't give me a clear answer, not even knowing if AE meant x86 or x64 & your perfect classictheme setup keeps showing me this awesome message: www.fileshare.ro/download/3427457020/Untitled.png |

I installed this only again: dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-6.0.5-windows-x64-installer
being on win81 x64..
& "And you aren’t actually showing any error screenshot, just the SCT install window when it encounters an error."
Yes cause 1) i am not magician. 2) it's all that appears during the sct install process error.
So besides a setup issue, i see no problem on my side.
