Also, the "Applying your personal settings" dialog doesn't appear to hide the other controls I updated to RC3, the "Applying your personal settings" does appear but for a split second before it goes to the desktop. It also appears for me but it doesn't hide the other controls. (i can still see it but i still see stuff like login textboxes, ok/cancel buttons and etc.)

I have some suggestions: 1. Add console login support (so you can for example still have console windows security menu) 2. Add "Don't display last username" support. This group policy tweak allows you to type username in the login screen

Also, the "Applying your personal settings" dialog doesn't appear to hide the other controls I have just released a new version with a bugfix for it, thank you for reporting it
You need to not have modified the login screen in any way for it to work, it's listed in the requirements. If you want to know why and how it actually works, look at Part V: Interaction with LogonUI Section of the documentation.
I actually plan to do this, but it requires a lot more work than you think, so it's something that *should* be coming in the next major release, but there's a lot of other stuff planned for it, so don't expect it to be anytime soon.
Edit: Console login is unfortunately out of the question, but limited support for other changes to the login screen is available now. You can read the included documentation to know more.

Just tested it out recently, and I am impressed.
My only issue is it takes a few seconds for the login window to show up.

As for the sethc exploit, replace sethc.exe with cmd.exe in System32 and press Shift 5 times on the login screen to open CMD

Release 1.0 Update changed the way images are drawn again but I like this new method, centre-out anchoring, much better. The customiser tool is also very well done.

Huge oversight: whenever the password is entered wrong, the text box doesn't reset - I have to manually delete the wrong password before typing again. The annoyance/wasted time of doing this really adds up over time, and no OS I've ever used does this.
Also, how do you get a background image to be pixel-perfect (zoomed 100%)? I replaced "bg.logo.png" with my own 1920x1080 image, but it gets rescaled even though it's the same resolution as my screen. This isn't a problem for anti-aliased images, but it turns aliased/pixelated/dithered images into mush.

Thank you for reporting a bug!First, the wrong password not resetting will be fixed in the next update, as for the second one if you set the image size to be fixed and automatic in the theme settings it should not be rescaled at all. You can always look on the project page to check for new updates.

You can always look on the project page to check for new updates. Thanks. I figured out why the images were getting blurry - my display scaling is set to 125%. Turning it down to 100% makes the background crisp, but then the whole OS becomes way too tiny for my laptop screen. Whatever. Also, the program often makes a error sound when I log in - it seems to happen if I've previously entered my password wrong (which makes the same error sound).

Today's update fixed the password resetting, great! Now the only remaining issue for me is the error ding it makes upon login, other than that it's perfect.

Installed this on my spare machine and I have an Active Directory Domain in my homelab. It did not detect my domain and I was unable to login with any kind of combo of username and passwords and domain. The Domain section would only show the local machines name and not my domain name.

The domain field and "log on with dial-up" checkbox are purely aesthetical for now. Sorry. EDIT: This is no longer true as of version 1.2. It should now work with AD domains, though I don't have the appropriate means of testing it unfortunately.

I'm glad this program is getting used all over the world. Great work, Nik, Leet, and everyone else involved in translations.

That's great application, but i have a little bit problem; I'm trying to do Turkish tranlation on this, but some texts are up on the boxes and The text "what do you want to do" is replaced by the text "turn off the computer". I checked the my translation and everything is looks like correct. Amazing! Does this work on Windows 8.1? and by the way, i'm using Windows 8.1 Update 1, so yes, it's working on Windows 8.1.
