1. Grab the following files from XP x64 (or just x86 on a 32 bit system): shlwapi.dll shell32.dll themeui.dll
2. Open shell32.dll (xp) in a hex editor. 3. Find for the text "shlwapi.dll". Find next all the time till it cannot find anything anymore. 4. In the text, replace "shlwapi.dll" with "xpswapi.dll" (in just the selected area). 5. Go back to the beginning, replace and find "shell32.dll" and replace it with "shellxp.dll" 6. Save it 7. Rename shell32.dll (xp) to shellxp.dll 8. Rename shlwapi.dll to xpswapi.dll There is no need to hexedit xpswapi.dll. Optionally:
1. Put all the XP wallpapers from C:\Windows to your Windows directory 2. Open regedit 3. Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion 4. make a string called "WallPaperDir" with the data of "%SystemRoot%\Web\Wallpaper"
5. Put all the XP wallpapers from C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper to your install's C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper.
To open it, run desk.cpl ,0 (this can be run without xp's desk.cpl, just the desk.cpl that came with your system)

How do I open it if it isnt an EXE or CPL? You have to take the three files from Windows XP x64. To open them, you have to go to open with... like any file.

What if I want a language that isn't English? XP x64 released only on english, and back then every language was hardcoded into the dlls and exes
