Hello, I've been trying to find a way to modify the Fonts folder Icon and the Explorer icon. I'd like to change the icon of the explorer in a way, that makes it change in the ribbon, see here : I have everything else in my explorer the way I want it to be, but this little icon really frustrates me sometimes. It would also be nice if I could change the regedit icon. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Unfortunately, the explorer icon cannot be changed because if you do this, the system will get damaged Is there really no way? I've seen alot of people change the icon of explorer.exe, so that it even changes in C:\Windows and in the Ribbon.

I have no idea how others did it but tried to change that icon once and it damaged the system That's unfortunate. What about the Font Folder icon, though? It Doesnt let me open it in RH even if I run RH as TrustedInstaller

As for explorer.exe's icons, you need to open the explorer.exe.mui file, import all of the icons from the original Explorer into it then modify them inside the .mui

Second problem, I don't know how I can import the icons from the original into the explorer.

Funny fact: it seems to me that the other two participants in this discussion also have their system language on Windows\pl-PL. Regarding the ribbon, it is possible that the icon is stored elsewhere, because there are several copies of the Explorer icon on the system.

Hah yeah, I've noticed that there's quite a few people here with the System language pl-PL Regarding the explorer icon: I've already checked and replaced any explorer icon in these locations : explorer.exe.mui in en-US and pl-PL in Both System32 and SysWOW64 aswell as the Windows folder. I have replaced the explorer icons in imageres.dll.mun and shell32.dll.mun I have also went through ExplorerFrame.dll.mun but that didnt have anything. Yet after all these changes the icon is still the same. Funny thing I noticed though, any explorer shortcuts I make outside of the Windows folder have the custom Icon I set, except the one in C:\Windows or in the Ribbon thats im trying to change. Any further help would be very appreciated!

There is a way to do this without modifying files: If you look at C:\Windows\Fonts's desktop.ini file (notepad C:\Windows\Fonts\desktop.ini), you can see a CLSID. Open regedit, CTRL+F, put the CLSID in there, and then go down to DefaultIcon you can change the default string there and modify it to the icon of your choice.

Unfortunately for me the problem looks like this: I tried to change the winver window and after replacing the shell32.dll.mui file, there were no changes, I also use Windows 10 in Polish I have changed winver's icon by pinning winver to the normal windows 10 start, and changing its icon, after doing that anytime i open winver from anywhere the icon is changed.

I meant to change the appearance of the window itself, not the icon Unless you mean the branding, then I don't know how to help

Okay, I have imported and replaced the explorer icon in every explorer.exe.mui on my system, the explorer.exe in SysWOW64 changed but the one in the Windows folder is still the windows 10 icon. There's also a explorer.exe in the path "C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.19041.1706_none_c63e69402f1bb893" which also has the Win 10 icon. Everything I tried above did not work, I'd really want this to work, as the Win 10 icon is really bugging me. Kind regards
