I have recently found the following key in registry: It seems it contains the CLSID of the open/save dialog for Explorer to use. If we change this CLSID, possibly it would be possible to replace the dialog.

It may be the pre-XP/2000 style (that from Win95).

True, but it's all I could find.
Actually, I think {2804B74C-AC16-4398-9DC0-DB83F5B7ED14} might be for the old Win95-style dialog. You can try both.
