Copy the following files from Windows 8.0: C:\Windows\System32\PerfCenterCPL.dll C:\Windows\System32\(your locale code)\PerfCenterCPL.dll.mui Export the following registry keys from Windows 7: HKCR\CLSID\{78F3955E-3B90-4184-BD14-5397C15F1EFC} HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{78F3955E-3B90-4184-BD14-5397C15F1EFC} Run the following command in an admin command prompt: regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\PerfCenterCPL.dll It can be accessed from the icons view of Control Panel. Running the assessment works, however no visual indication is given that it is running. (Check if WinSAT.exe is running with Task Manager if you want to know if it's running)  |

So could this method possibly (Not the dll above) be used to restore the Action Center/Windows Update From Windows 7/8? I've seen a custom Windows 10 build made to be like Windows 7 with both.
I tested a build of this before, just not sure how this was done lol

It's better to add in the stuff removed from 8.1's systemcpl.dll back in In systemcpl.dll add this following code after (add it to the UIFILE)

Also, what exactly "your local code" means when searching for C:\Windows\System32\(your locale code)\wucultux.dll.mui which I also didn't find. Because it is wucltux.dll. There is a typo here. And you locale folder depends on your Windows install language US-English=en_US, British-English=en_GB,Polish=pl_PL,Turkish=tr_TR etc etc Alright, I found the dll I was looking for and thank you for your help! |
