Is it possible to recreate one of the longhorn msstyles like Slate? Plex would be easier cause it uses the same window metrics as XP. I am working on a Slate theme for Windows 10, however it's very incomplete at this point. Preview:

Thanks to OrthodoxWin32 I now have an Embedded theme. I modified some things like the explorer toolbar background and DWMWindow which didn't have any changes added to that. It isn't complete, I do need to change more things in it and the start menu.

Alright everybody! I installed Windows 10 21H2, and decided to give it a shot again.
The only problem is despite having "Title bars and window borders" checked and chosen Default blue as the color is you'll get a white text, but after some locking/unlocking or whatnot, the titlebar text color will go to black. I don't know why. If anyone knows a fix let me know.
Also, anyone know how to get BasicThemer to start on startup (maybe a bit more stable version I use v3), and how to set up the Explorer? The tools used to set up the XP-style explorer is there on the how-to, but there's no step-by-step on how to set it up.

To fix the titlebar text color problem. You need to delete or rename this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\DefaultColors You'll have to take ownership of the registry key first, you can google how to do that. As for the basicthemer thing you can make a task in Task Scheduler to open basicthemer2 automatically on startup, or put a shortcut to it in the startup folder. You can go to it by going to Run and typing in shell:startup. I am too lazy to make a guide for the file explorer.

I finally did it! We got a work in progress XP transformation. Decided to show you results on English version (which is where my account is for job searching, interviews and to keep sensitive stuff out from my main user account in Hebrew and vice versa). On the top you'll think this is XP, until you see the Windows about, the weather thingy (still need it) and the 10 flat icons. Other than that, good start!
If anyone cares, I made Hebrew start button lol

You can use ExplorerPatcher's implementation of the weather applet, it looks good with the XP taskbar

How did you to make Paint.net to look nice with the BasicThemer and without bugs? It looks like when you're on Windows 7 and you use it with the Basic or Classic Theme.
I used dwmapi dlls. Just wondering, is dwmapi dlls a tweak for paint.net specifically? i've never heard of it so im curious and interested on trying that on my paint.net

Amazing work everybody! Here's what I have so far (I also installed WMP10, despite me personally using VLC for my entertainment/media needs )
Hebrew version:
English version:
As we all know some language releases of XP don't always use Trebuchet MS. The Hebrew copy uses Tahoma in areas where Trebuchet MS would be, so it's just a minor tweak if I want a little more accuracy for the Hebrew version, but other than that it's great!

Regarding the black screen of death I've been having: I wanted to note that I am using Project2k, modified by me to look like Windows XP.
Today I downloaded a Windows 10 LTSC 21H2 ISO (same version as Project2k) from the microsoft website and ran it in a VM, I did all the procedures to get the Windows XP theme up and going, and it actually worked! I don't really know why, probably Project2k had some stuff on it that caused Windows to freak out or something? Idk, but it's still good news
I might just reinstall Windows 10 LTSC without Project2k, and theme it all over again, I got nothing to lose anyways
Note: I will have to redownload the Windows 10 LTSC 21H2 ISO, probably from a 3th party website, cuz the one I got from Microsoft is apperently just an evaluation version, which means that there's no way for me to activate it, therefore no way for me to remove the black title bar text. But, anyways, it shouldn't be too much of a problem, I doubt that the evaluation version of the ISO has something (or lacks something) that makes the theme work without giving me a black screen of death. (btw, if you're wondering how I applied the Windows XP theme without windows being activated, I simply applied it using the SecureUxTheme Patcher, since you can apply themes directly from their tool without needing to activate anything)
Best of luck to me, and thank you all for your continued help.

I don't know where to post it but since I've posted many discoveries here, might as well. I was thinking about the empty space that is the Classic Address bar icon. So I decided to just put a My Computer icon on the image for the address bar and it works really well. While it doesn't change icons, and it kind of looks weird on the navigation bar, I do not care.

By the way for those who want a 1:1 My Computer view I found out some time ago how to do just that. 1) Set icon view to Tiles 2) Make a CSM explorer command that runs SetExplorerIconView.exe -Icons 48 3) Hold CTRL and make the icons 32px, now open another folder and back again. 4) Run the CSM command you made. You now have an accurate My Computer folder.
