I recently updated my OS to Windows 10 22H2 for VR reasons and I think I've more or less got a look I'm happy with.
But as you might be able to notice there are some rather glaring issues.
1. msstyles are broken with my dark theme.
I think they're using the default bright white Windows 10 theme and that not only makes things ugly, but it also makes things impossible to read sometimes with my classic dark theme as it's white text on a white background. I'm not yet skilled enough to change this yet so the safest solution possible would be nice.
2. This PC
I'dve probably fixed this by now but I dont know the magic words to put into Google to show me the solution. What's basically happening is when I create a shortcut to say, the Desktop in my Quick Access at
"C:\Users\NovaDelta\Desktop" It will instead go to
"This PC > Desktop" This isnt an issue when I just what to access the desktop but when I press the up directory button I would like to end up in the User folder rather than the base folder. Preferably I'd like something similar to Windows 7's My Computer where you click that and it just shows you the drives, while all of the User folders are actually in the user folder, if that makes sense.
3. Downloads organization.
I've got this fixed for just directly opening the folder in a normal window but whenever I open up a save dialog or an open dialog or whatever it gives me an "organized" version with like... "Downloaded today" or "3 months ago" or "a long time ago" in a list organization I'd prefer it to just keep to what I normally sort it as, alphabetically, and with medium tiles.
Oh yeah also, if anyone has a way to just like... have everything not fade and whatnot when animating that'd also be great. I used UPMCalc to switch things over to slide but that only seemed to fix a few things.
If anyone has any help for these things, It would be nice. I haven't messed around with Windows 10 much since I switched off of it a few years ago so I'm a bit rusty.

Hello NovaDelta, For the dark theme, I described this problem of this topic : www.winclassic.net/thread/1350/looking-themeYou must either use the classic theme, a high contrast theme or a personalized visual style. The dark theme by default is very poorly done, it is a "mode" included in aero.msstyle, while it should be a dedicated visual style. For your classic dark theme, it is necessary to deactivate the visual style so that it appears correctly, in other words, activate the classic theme.

I don't really mind the current theme I'm using. It's just the occasional white spot and the even more common unreadable text.

Right, custom msstyles it is then.... whenever i decide to get around to it.
Also I know this isnt directly theme related but I've got a broken keyboard and sometimes use OSK to type. Is there any way to stop it from popping up in the middle of the screen every time a window opens without just ending the service? Windows 7's was a lot more "in the background" but 10's is just aggressive enough to make me not want to use it.

For the downloads folder thing you can right click, go to Group by and select (None). Then you right click again, go to Sort by and click Name
