Hey! I'm still holding on to Win 7, but my computer is starting to lag behind, especially with it's old HDD drive. That's why I will be building a new PC, but with Win 10 this time. To prepare for this ahead of time, I have tinkered with installing the classic theme on a VM, and I think I've gotten satisfactory effects. I have used the method by anixx ( here), I think it's the best method. I encountered some issues, but I managed to fix most of them. I also tried SCT, but I never got it to work quite right, especially the taskbar. However, some issues persist. One of them can be seen in the screen - TaskBow is using incorrect color behind quicklaunch icons (this is the color from OpenShell taskbar setting). This is the"quite buggy" part, I suppose. Also, in explorer.exe the buttons for forward and backward are missing sometimes. They show up roughly half of the times I launch a new explorer window. I have installed explorer++, but it has it's own drawbacks so I'm on a fence about this. Should I make a topic pertaining to those issues? The theme is a modified Slate with red bars. The OpenShell menu caption color is changed with Resource Hacker. I think it looks cool. What do you think?
