Where about's could I find the resources to turn my P2k installation into a more accurate windows 98 look'a like?

Fierelier created a tool which can create different schemes for Windows, which you can create a 98 theme within. I Believe his most up to date version of OCT also has a 98 colour scheme which you could use instead. Icon wise, you'll probably have to do that manually or stick with 2000 icons, and for the taskbar I recommend the Windows 98 theme for RetroBar. Look through my posts and you'll also find a Windows 95/98 themed explorer.dll.mun.
