File Explorer renaming issue

When renaming files in Explorer, it lets me enter in a character, then I have about 150-200 milliseconds to rename it before it stops renaming. This happens most of the time, but not every time.
This doesn't happen when renaming files on the desktop though...
It's not easy to see from a screen recording, but I don't press escape manually in it.
