the task manager, despite crashing, literally, unironically, aside sct, actually only has the classic theme??? huh??

They are not failure of Simple Classic Theme. First, crashing deskn.cpl is by its design. You can use alternative scheme configurator or WinPaletter instead.
As for task manager, it is caused by that modern task manager is not compatible with classic theme. So you need to install old task manager, Process Explorer or something like that.

no, no, i know that about the taskmgr. what i meant to say was, while the task manager keeps crashing, its basically the only program that has the classic theme aside the sct config menu itself. not even the file explorer or run dialog has the classic theme as for the alternative scheme configurator, is it compatible with sct?

Nevermind that. Didn't look far enough. Classic Theme works! Thanks.

No WinPaletter or alternative scheme connfigurator apply classic theme for me, is it a 1809 issue? They don't apply classic theme, they just change the colors/scheme for it. You need something else like SimpleClassicTheme or ClassicThemeTray to activate classic theme itself.
