using latest startisback++ (paid not cracked) I've got it as functional as I can and still not very convincing. The window preview background from taskbar has no blur despite it normally having blur, the tray icon highlights are gone, the taskbar uses windowblinds blur instead of standard blur from startisback, windowblinds theme removes blue sidebar in control panel.
Also the "File Edit Format View HelP" button previews are gone and the text turns white after you click them in.
Also, scrollbars in CMD are very broken.

its just startisback++ and WindowsBlinds11 + msstyle theme edited to all work together That's quite good. I could never make both programs to work together. Does your modified version also work with Windows Blinds 10? How did you modify it?

The theme is broken in some areas such as tray highlights are missing and taskbar icons are broken with no fix.

I hate MS given that they forced us to hinge on third party apps to change the ugly ui of Windows 10. They changed lots of things unnecesarily, like the taskbar that could just follow the look of the theme like in previews versions. I think that if this theme doesn't work properly (at least with WB10) transforming windows 10 into 7 well is impossible for now, given that WB doesn't theme the thumbnails and other such things. Ihatemetro sent me a theme that combined with a WindHawk mod could work, however last time I tried that WindHawk mod it almost bricked my OS. I'd need to try it again, this time with that theme to see if there's finally a solution for this.

Anything newer you'll need to either use the basic theme, which is easy enough to get accurate to win7 and I'll probably release an ISO already done eventually like Alcatel did for 21H2, Classic theme, or other themes that don't involve aeroglass transparency and something like retrobar. I'd pay so much for a glass8 replacement. I main 7 on every device I have that's compatible and runs fast on it.

Yeah indeed there was glass8 until LTSC 2019, although unfortunately I can't use it as I use the latest LTSC version (21h2). As always the damn manufacturers force you to use the latest versions, as they've teamed up with MS to kill off Windows 7. Actually apart from the Classic Theme the Basic Theme is what I've been trying to apply and is something I've already discussed on this forum, with the main impediment being the navigation bar which dumb MS broke and there doesn't seem to be a proper solution without mods. Weeks ago I tried a WindHawk mod to disable DWM extension but it almost bricked my computer. However regarding that mod ihatemetro posted his WindHawk configuration which doesn't have explorer.exe included which I've thought could be the solution for that, I shall have to try it when I can. Thank you a lot really for trying to create an iso with the theme already included, I appreciate anything to de-metrofy and "de-fluentui-ize" the OS. What methods and programs will you use to do so? Lest you already have the basic theme on Windows 10, what programs and mods (like those on Windhawk) do you use to have it? What 21h2 iso do you mean by the way? I remember a LTSC 2019 windows 7 themed iso by if I'm not mistaken Alcatel too, although I wasn't aware he did one with 21H2.

Perhaps you can provide a screenshot of the issue. I mean that the navigation bar doesn't apply the basic theme, it stays white-colored and it even happens with third party basic themes. I show it on the screenshot (although I'm not using a third party basic theme now). When you use it with a third party theme it turns black. Attachments:

Use this script to fix it : winclassic.net/post/13472/threadThat's what you're trying to use anyway, so it doesn't change much.

Yep I can't get this to work at log on, everything turns black and makes programs, even Task Manager unusable: it makes me think it could be a dwm problem (since this mod modifies aspects of it) so this mod could not be fully compatible with my Windows 10 version. Ironically I can use it while I'm logged on, and at startup too as long as I don't include everything, just some programs.

Do you want to get the Navbar the same color as the Caption frame? Yeah indeed! Exactly as that. How did you do it? I presume you used the Windhawk mod "disable-dwm-extended-frames" which I already tried to get to run on logon, but if I include everything it breaks my OS, so I can just include some programs. I was told it could be some nvidia or other third party app which could be causing it. I'm yet to create a clean Windows 10 VM and try that mod there, although I don't have enough time for it yet.

Windhawk mod "disable-dwm-extended-frames" has nothing to do with it, it is needed to fix transparent frames You need a program to edit msstyle files. It can be Windows Style Builder or msstyleEditor. Personally, Windows Style Builder is convenient for me, as I have been using it for many years. Use this tutorial disk.yandex.ru/i/ycDGMNI3eXJiMQ to quickly find the element you need, it is also relevant for Win10. Next, you need to open your visual style and follow the path: 1. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Normal > Active > Background 2. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Normal > Inactive > Background 3. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Max > Active > Background 4. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Max > Inactive > Background Find the BGTYPE property and switch to IMAGEFILE Next, you need to add an image for the NavBar. Let's go along the path: 1. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Normal > Active > Background 2. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Normal > Inactive > Background 3. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Max > Active > Background 4. Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Max > Inactive > Background Later, I will attach a specially compiled Win7 basic visual style for you.

There must have been a way through editing themes that this could work, I just couldn't figure out how to do it nor the keys within Windows Style Builder. I once tried to edit a theme this way as I already saw someone mention this on this forum but they didn't reply how to do so. Anyway thank you so much man, this information is so valuable, we finally cracked the puzzle on the Windows 7 theme. Thank you a lot man. Also thank you a lot for making me the theme. I owe you a lot. By the way, in "disable-dwm-extended-frames", what did you include to fix photo viewer? Mine still has the dwm border. How should the image for the navigation bar look like, should it be in terms of width and height exactly as the space of the navigation bar?

For photo viewer, use the DWM dll's method from this thread winclassic.net/thread/150/download-classictheme-exes-dwm-dlls Place this in C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/889934809059713134/1064292542084026368/dwm_dlls_2.zip
The image can be anything, use the (SizingMargins- 7, 7, 7, 7 = Left, Right , Top , Bottom) property to edit the size. For example, you can take a different visual style, where it works as you need and compare. Attachments:
