Where do the classic Windows versions (Win95-XP) store the positions of the Explorer windows? This feature has been removed from Vista, and I am thinking about re-implementing it as a WindHawk mod. How is it done in ReactOS?

I ask myself the same question, it would be really practical to find this functionality. Another thing that it would be good to find is the memorization of the display mode. In Windows 95/NT4, the toolbar and navigation pane display is remembered. For example, by clicking on "My computer", I get the explorer in multi-window mode with the toolbar. If I click on the Control Panel or any folder, I get explorer in multi-window mode with only the menu bar. And if I click on "file explorer", I get the explorer in single window mode, with the toolbar and the navigation pane. It would be great to have that in modern Windows.
