Does anybody have a guide on how to PROPERLY restore them? What I usually get is they're added to control panel, but then they open in a new, separate explorer window, instead of the window they were clicked in. A few things like ihatemetro's regs properly restore them, but I don't know what's done differently there and I want to do it myself.

Import these as TrustedInstaller to get classic personalization in Control Panel. To stop getting redirected to settings: 1. Open themecpl.dll (themecpl.dll.mun in 1903+) in Resource Hacker. If you are opening themecpl.dll from System32, make sure to back it up 2. Find this line: shellexecute="ms-settings:personalization-background" 3. Replace shellexecute="ms-settings:personalization-background" with navigationtargetrelative="pageWallpaper" 4. Find this line: shellexecute="ms-settings:personalization-colors" 5. Replace shellexecute="ms-settings:personalization-colors" with navigationtargetrelative="pageColorization"

That's old news dude, we've known how to do that for years, there's even a program that does all of them. I want to find out how to add control panel applets myself (without regs) that don't redirect to a new control panel window, nothing to do with settings..

Also the regs above doesn't have anything to do with stopping wallpaper and color pages from redirecting. Its for adding the personalization page itself to CPL,it also opens in CPL too,no explorer shell involved, just try it.

How is the video coming? I want to include control panel applets restored using this method in Sevenify 2.0 Only had time to record for personalization page youtu.be/RF5lJRnKF3cWhen i tried adding personalization page back without using a different GUID it just refused to appear in CPL altogether. So by just using a method like this it can be readded without any problems. For adding display properties page first you need to do these stuff: www.winclassic.net/thread/1390/classic-display-settings-control-partially(Only the stuff at the top) Then just go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/ControlPanel/NameSpace in regedit and create a new key called {C555438B-3C23-4769-A71F-B6D3D9B6053A} and it will appear in the right place without opening a new window. Idk why you dont need to use a different GUID for this one tho,it just works.

For example i renamed it to customize Then do "control /name customize" Attachments:
