I asked the same question on stardock's forum and they told me it's impossible. But I saw once a guy who managed to make it work, I just have no idea of how. My best guess is taking owner ship of the apps, but I tried and no sucess.

My best guess is taking owner ship of the apps, but I tried and no sucess. Maybe they changed the permissions so that "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES", or "ALL RESTRICTED APPLICATION PACKAGES" can write. I haven't tested it myself, but maybe that could work.

My advice would simply be not to use WindowBlinds in any capacity. I really can't see a valid reason to in the year 2023 when the software should've died atleast 16 years ago when Windows Vista released.

Especially considering the recent discoveries about uDWM window rendering, and this windhawk mod I've been hearing about that's currently in the works. Using windowblinds to replicate W7 won't even be necessary in a few months, unless you're afraid of messing up your system.

Oh, well 5 days ago, I did find a very recent 10 to 7 transformation pack on 1809 while browsing DeviantArt that made the DWM frame captions accurate, so I copied all its DWM files over to my host to get that same accurate look and I'm happy with the results. ^o^ But yeah, good job to Dulappy, it looks very premising, I do hope as well that the program will be open-source and will work on 1507-1809 as well.

I almost certainly won't make it work on 1507-1803. I don't see a reason why anyone would use those versions when better alternatives exist. I will, however, in the process of making it easier to compile for multiple versions for myself (1809-22H2), also make it quite easy for anyone with enough reverse engineering skills to compile for any version of Windows 10 by only modifying a few #DEFINEs instead of actual code, always depending on the function of course. The program will likely also never support any version of Windows before 10, unless there's some serious demand, or if someone decides to do it themselves.

Really wanted to try it on a vm.

Now for the program, I'm just starting development on that, so expect a beta in a few months (or maybe less, who knows).
