How do you restore these CPL items, is there a guide on it here? No, but enderman on YouTube replaced his entire installation with windows xp files and automatic updates and date and time were restored but auto updates wasn’t functional and it took forever to open, windows xp joy.cpl I had restores on some earlier page, accessibly options can be restored but not just with the application, when I copied the whole windows folder from xp once I got it to show, but if you change stuff it messes up your fonts. Okay, thanks.

I found a service that's related to Parental Controls in Vista/7. It's simply named "Parental Controls" in services.msc and the real service name in Properties is WPCSvc. There's also a file named wpcsvc.dll in Systsem32. These missing files and services may be the clue to why Parental Controls doesn't work.

That's weird, the Parental Controls service doesn't work under modern Windows.

That's weird, the Parental Controls service doesn't work under modern Windows. That's probably because the dlls or regs that it needs to work are missing.

And what is wrong with that? We're was still waiting for 4.0 but I wonder what's Brawllux doing. Do you think that i am sitting on my computer every and trying to reverse MS' awful decisions? This is just a hobby for me;i am not doing something because it has to be done,i do it because i love to do it. And when you cannot solve one single bug for 2 weeks you start pulling your hair and you want to do other things that is not related to this.
Also no, there is no "we're was waiting". You are the only one that keeps complaining every week. If you don't want your explorer to start crashlooping every time you enter a page, or if you don't want the working pages to not be consistent you need to wait.
If you are very impatient about how things going i would highly appreciate help with DUI. If you don't know DUI,stop complaining please.

I totally agree, new thing are popping up like the CardSpace service, and you want to include localisation support, which takes time, like, I know I released the unofficial one far too early, and yes Windows User, you should try making this pack in all your spare time

Actually, I don't care whether this project is updated or not. I have restored almost all Vista’s control panel items (not pages), except for the Welcome Center. It won't appear no matter what. Maybe the default Welcome Center CLSID was been blocked by Microsoft?

For the fun of it (and because I didn't know if anyone else has tried this yet) I tried this project on Windows 11 (21H2), to see what works and what doesn't! The first screenshot that says "PROBLEMS" in the folder name are ones that either are broken or that I messed up installing them at some point and idk if I just did them wrong. The theme on this is bad but that wasn't the point of this anyway. View AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentFor homegroup cpl replace hgcpl.dll with W10 versions. For percentercpl use the DLLs from the 1st version to regsvr32 then copy back the dll from the latest version. Make sure that you apply every step required for genuine center because it should work. I didn't test security center in 11 so I don't know about that. Since Windows 11 is still getting rid of some CPL applets and that process is still not finished i didn't add 11 to the support list. But everything in the pack should work in 11 as well.

Nice, do you think you can restore the old update service? Because if you try to check for updates at the minute it will just say that the service isn’t running even if if it’s running A few years ago, when I restored Vista's Windows Update in Windows 7, I thought the same thing as you. But in the end it didn't work, still cannot check. So I had to give up PS: At that time, I could get Windows Ultimate Extras to work on Windows Update (only Vista) in Windows 7.
Could you share your method of dui editing? Because I want to know how to implement stuff into dll files

And if you read that correctly the message says "vista's update in 7",not "7 page dui patched to look like vista".

Yeah. In Windows 7, even Ultimate, if you try to put Vista Ultimate's wucltux.dll in it, the result is the Windows Update cannot identify your Windows version. So the Windows Update doesn't including Windows Ultimate Extras. But you can easily modify the wucltux.dll UIFILE to bypass the version identifier to implement the Windows Ultimate Extras.

I wonder can we implement the vista ultimate extras in the sidebar and under the check for updates bit, I still think that windows update agent is the problem we have for checking for updates

Because we might be able to port it to the 7 windows update page on windows 10, of course bypassing the version check
