Fantastic work yet again. When can we expect for this to be released? Not soon, because i am thinking about adding 2 more styles, those will be default windows 10 and windows vista. The code is mostly ready just needs more testing and optimization.

DO THIS ONLY IF YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT BREAKING YOUR SHELL32 SIGNATURE ALSO SORTING WILL ONLY WORK FULLY WITH THE WINDHAWK MOD THIS IS AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD AND SHOULD BE USED ONLY IF YOU CHOOSE TO NOT USE WINDHAWK
If you do not want to use the Windhawk mod included in the pack, you can still get this working 2/3% The un-hiding and making links will work, but sorting will only work partially
To do this, you'll need to turn on Test Signing and NO_INTEGRITY_CHECKS, and unsign Shell32 with Unsigner Then, open it with HxD and open the Windhawk mod in Notepad Take a look at the 2 lists of CLSIDs and canonical names Set HxD's search to UTF-16 and to search in all directions, search for the entry in the list, if you find it, blank it out with "00" bytes Do this for all the stuff, and after you reboot you will be able to see that the items are back and if you restore pages, their links will work too (so for example you can click on Change resolution in Display and not have it take you to Settings)

Some people prefer not to be dependent on third-party software which patches by its nature in a temporary way, when it's possible to cold-patch what you want instead in a way that will last as long as you know what you're doing and are prepared to take ownership of YOUR computer. Power users still exist.

If you use Test Mode to let modded drivers load, then you lose benefits of keeping your signature unharmed eitherways. On older versions, anticheat software will most likely tell you to go and upgrade, so there's no real point in keeping the signature intact as well. And if you won't update Windows or install UWP apps, and don't use anything that checks shell32.dll's signature or for the presence of Testsigning/NO_INTEGRITY_CHECKS, then IMO this method is better. But the final choice remains up to the user, I merely provided an alternative option that doesn't require third party software to work that the user can choose whether to apply or not.

Power users still exist. You know that the mod can do more things than patching the dll right? .The mod lets you sort more items than Microsoft intended to put there for example. It works even on 11 canary. Also what are you trying to say here by "power users still exist"? Patching bytes has nothing to do with being a power user. Using easier methods like this saves your time and offers more flexibility, and what's with that "take ownership of your computer" part? Do Windhawk mods take away your ability to use a computer? If it does something wrong, you can just fork the mod and remove the parts you don't need. It's still your computer,no need to worry about anything because it's still your choice, you can do anything you want and no one is stopping you.

I now added some important notes to my message about making this work without Windhawk. Most users should just go for the Windhawk method, my method is for ones who prefer to directly patch files and don't care about signatures. I just personally think this method is better for me, but I do not force anyone to use it. I posted it in case someone else could find it useful.
