and if we can't restore all cpls we can't make it ? Because i have see neptune has make one you can make them via DUI, but the problem is that DUI is undocumented from what i know, and some features of those cpl's are probably non-restorable in newer versions of windows (i might be wrong) |

Not much of use, but if you grab control.exe from a 7 SP1 iso, and rename the windows 10 control.exe to old after taking ownership, place in the 7 control.exe it works like a charm. I don't know if this means anything, since it changes nothing for me but it could lead to something. Just needs the right research which I cannot do No MUI needed, since there isn't one. Control.exe is just a launcher for control panel,it does not change anything so downgrading it is useless. |

I don't know if this bug has been addressed, but the windhawk mod is kind of buggy with the Right Click - Properties button, while having the Computer page in Explorer opened. When clicking Properties with the mod on (właściwości is properties), instead of it opening the System Properties page, it opens up Screen Resolution, instead of System Properties. Attachments:

you can launch it on 7, but you can't adjust the resolution.
Is it really related to shell32? I remember getting it to appear on 10 by downgrading themeui(maybe uxtheme too) and desk.cpl together. The resolution changer appeared but i dont remember clearly if it worked or not. I also remember the theme chooser appearing for a split second and then crashing. Also you cannot downgrade the theme dlls and restart,you need to downgrade them and restart explorer. When you are gonna shutdown you need to restore the right files back or you may not be able to boot into windows.

it's not a problem for the resolution actually (it's a vm so vmware adujst it automatically) but i don't understand i need to change what value of what file ? And another problem i have see, i can't change the theme to aero classic etc and yeah now i understand... restore the control panel is hard

After you replacing Vista's Personalization, you certainly can't change the theme and aero color. You only can change the desktop background. and Vista didn't have themeservice.dll  and Yeah, if you replace uxtheme.dll to Vista, congratulation, you'll get emergent theme. |

So i have try to get the display settings of windows Vista on windows 7 and i can't get it working, i have need to change values of regedit and when i try to open it it's keep crashing, maybe i need to try with a beta build of windows 7
