If I understand correctly, the Windows 10 taskbar is still present in the latest versions of Windows 11.
I agree, it doesn't seem very difficult to make Windows 11 taskbar compatible with the classic theme. Afterwards, it is possible that for some reason, the old taskbar is not deleted (like the toolbars/commands bar in Explorer). Concerning the rewriting of the taskbar, putting back the functions of 7+ Taskbar Tweaker seems possible, because it is open-source. This is also the case for other taskbar customization tools (TaskbarX, TranclucentTB, OpenShell, Taskbar-resize, Taskbow, SmartTaskbar, RoundedTB...).
Theoretically, all of these tools could even be ported to Windhawk (even if most of the code would have to be converted to C++).
