Unfortunate thing for me is when software and games eventually become exclusive to Windows 11.. I really don't understand the management at Microsoft, are those professionals that dumb..

It may be worth trying to replace explorer.exe with one from an older Win11 build

It may be worth trying to replace explorer.exe with one from an older Win11 build That's what I was thinking too, though it may break in future versions if it even works at all.

Or maybe we should make a replacement taskbar (like retrobar does) that recreates the windows 10 or even windows 8 or 7 taskbar with windows 10,8 or 7 jumplists, previews, and maybe even system tray flyouts and icons.

I know there is already StartAllBack that does that but StartAllBack is based around the actual Windows 10 taskbar that microsoft will remove soon and it will stop working

Wish retrobar added 7's taskbar. But it won`t because windows 7`s taskbar is too modern

Even if they removed it entirely, would it really mean very much?
I mean, it was officially removed with the release of Windows 11 and Explorer Patcher's reimplementation is based on code available in 22H2, but it's still working in 23H2 and allegedly 24H2.
So I guess if MS completely removes the code it will take a while until the ExplorerPatcher guys come up with a solution but eventually they will most likely come up with one.

EP people are trying to re-write the taskbar, but it has limited functionality, patricularly, 7+TT does not work with it.
The only way forward is to write a Windhawk mod that fixes the Win11 taskbar for classic theme. It is really not that hard.

Yes, I've read that 7+TT isn't even compatible with the taskbar as it is right now (23H2). github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/ExplorerPatcher's-taskbar-implementation However, for me 7+TT works exactly as it should with 23H2. So I don't know... But anyway, if it's easy to write a windhawk mod that modifies the task bar in order to work with the classic theme, shouldn't it be as easy for the EP guys to come up with a working Win10 taskbar? Because the taskbar we all use with the classic theme IS the Win10 taskbar (just with a few modifications), both on Win10 and Win11. So i have no doubts that at least SOMEONE will come up with a useful taskbar, even if MS decides to get entirely rid of the Win10 taskbar code. And I don't care who it is.
Edit: Since the release of Windows 8 I'm really wondering what the MS jerks are up to. Shouldn't they have learned by now that many of the modifications they cripple their OS with aren't really appreciated by the users?

7+TT is not compatible with the new EP taskbar implementation. It works just fine with Win10 taskbar, which is still there in 23H2.

No, it never was compatible with the Win11 taskbar, I know that, but it was (and still is in my case) with EPs implementation of the Win10 taskbar on Win11, even if they say otherwise.
So maybe this warning is really meant for their upcoming implementation, not so much for the taskbar as it is right now on Win11 (with EP installed of course)...

But it is not compatible with re-written Win10 taskbar project that you linked.

That's the normal EP site, I couldn't find anything about a rewritten Win10 taskbar.
It's always been a reimplementation of the Win10 taskbar on Win11.
However, I think they warn about the incompatibility of 7+TT because they already know that it won't be compatible in the future with their "re-reimplementation" if you will

No. Win10 taskbar is included in Win11 versions up to 24H2 and not dependent on EP. It can be enabled with a registry key.
