Is there a way to make the taskbar icons always big like they were in 7/Win10 tablet mode without using 7TT? I tried enabling it via tablet mode settings but nothing seems to be happening, which is weird because I did it on a laptop before and it changed. Does Windows detect if you are not using a portable device and just refuse to let you enable it?

You can do that on StartIsback/StartAllBack, go to the appearance menu and in the lower right corner change both the Taskbar icon size and margins to L

I am using ExplorerPatcher and OpenShell (for start menu and accurate start orb) and I believe it was stated somewhere that those programs are not compatible with StartIsBack.

Startisback can handle the startorb and it has the most accurate version of the windows 7 start menu. If I'm not mistaken the startmenu stlye files are actually straight out ported from windows 7. In short, I think it's much better than open shell. I'm not sure about the compatibility with explorer patcher being an issue, I remember using both explorer patcher and SIB++ and working fine, but if it becomes an issue a lot of the mods that explorer patcher provides are available on WindHawk, that is 100% compatible with startisback. Also, startisback brings back some cool features like the taskbar previews from windows 7:

Oh hell are you using windowblinds? Yeah, then basically all of other tweaks won't work with it, windowblinds sucks really bad. You can use 7+ taskbar tweaker to do that tho, that will work with windowblinds for sure. Install it, then right click on the icon over the tray area on the taskbar and select advanced options. Then you can scroll down to w10_large_icons, and change it from 0 to 1. That will work for sure, back when I used windowblinds I used to that. It's not any of my business but I highly recomend you to not use windowblinds. Trust me, it's really inaccurate and it will break a lot of stuff. Only use for it is so aero works on latter versions, and it's not even real aero, it's just explorer blur on top of the windows. There is a modder doing a aero glass program for newer versions of windows and it's been looking pretty good, it's yet to be realeased but when it does I suggest you to check it out. It'll look much better than whatever windowblinds can do, trust me. Other than that you could use an older version of windows or an enterprise version to use glass8, on 1909, it looks like this imgur.com/a/6my3duH

It's being developed by a user called Dullapy, he constantly share progress on WinClassic's not official Discord server. When it's released you'll hear it here that's for sure.

I said WITHOUT taskbar tweaker. Is there really no other way? Why do you not want to use 7TT? It's probably the most lightweight option for doing that. Because I am currently using it, and it doesn't load in the icons that size as soon as I log on.
