To run Internet Explorer, go to the Internet Options Control Panel dialog. There to Programs tab, there click "Manage addons", then click "Learn more about toolbars and extensions".
This will open Internet Explorer. For it to look good, enable the Windhawk mod that fixes transparency (blocks extending frames to client area) for process iexplore.exe.

Disabling IEToEdge BHO shell extension makes the tabs 3D.

Thank you. The problem is the same in the latest versions of Windows 10. This script works.

The Disable-DWM-Extended-Frames mod fixes IE, but crashes the VB script intended to open it correctly (it seems to create an infinite loop).

The Disable-DWM-Extended-Frames mod fixes IE, but crashes the VB script intended to open it correctly (it seems to create an infinite loop). Works for me (although the IE still sometimes gets open transparent).
If you closed IE you should wait about 20 seconds before starting it again.
IE crashes on many websites, I think, DEP should be disabled for it to work.

It is IE 11, but in older versions of Windows there was IE 12.

If I disable the "Disable DWM Extended Frame" mod, the script works. If I deactivate it, I get an infinite loop, it's strange.

I have added rundll32.exe to the transparency fix mod - this fixes the IE appearance in all cases.

I have added rundll32.exe to the transparency fix mod - this fixes the IE appearance in all cases. I tried, it makes the IE IE VBscript work again, but IE is transparent again. If I add iexplore.exe, it fixes IE, but it blocks the IE VBscript.
