Has anyone tried running explorer.exe from an x64 version of Windows XP/2003 ? im not so sure it'll work though since compatibility mode for x64 programs only goes down to vista

Maybe try the longhorn 4083 x64 version it still contain XP theme.and 5048 XP theme is a bit messy I think if you find the last version of Pre beta of Vista able to use XP theme (64bit version) it will maybe work

what about vista or 7 explorer? Vista explorer can be restored somewhat through this method as well, but it is much more nonfunctional than XP's explorer Windows 7's simply doesn't work Aww that sucks just imagine if we could just take Windows 7 and slap it on Windows 10/11 than people wouldn't be complaining about how garbage those versions of Windows/Modern Windows is now a days is.

if it were to work you'd have to slap on a bunch of msstyles classes too What if you just take the windows 7 themes and apply them? Microsoft likes to try to break those, with each update in Windows.
