We will be implementing some changes to how we handle certain types of content on the forum. Bellow is a list outlining these policy changes.
The rules have been updated to reflect these new policies. The WinClassic staff will also be working to organize existing threads into their appropriate locations. This is an ongoing process that will take some time, so we appreciate your understanding as we work to make things more organized here.
We hope that these changes will help to make WinClassic a more organized, accessible, and enjoyable forum for everyone.
- General questions will be consolidated into a single general Q&A thread. If you have a question about how to do something, please post it there instead of creating an entirely new thread for it.
- We will be enforcing off-topic posts more strictly. This includes posts that derail the topic of an existing thread, or posting a thread about a topic in an unrelated board.
Side note: The General Discussion board is not for any random topic you want. Its purpose is for topics that don't fit into any other category on the forum (usually more casual, off-topic discussion). If there is a relevant board for it, post it there instead. - Our policy on necroposting has changed. Since WinClassic first launched in 2016, we have been pretty lenient on it. However, since most of it over the years has been nonconstructive, necroposting will no longer be allowed in most cases. Before doing it, consider the following: Will my post add something significant enough to the conversation to warrant it? Is it important enough for others to see in the context of the conversation? Or would it be better suited in its own thread? If you are not absolutely sure, then you probably shouldn't do it.
