As you may know, Windows 11 has introduced in an update the ability to open more archive formats natively in Explorer, including rar/7z/tar. So, I got curious one day and thought that this may be possible to port to Windows 10, and it turns out it can be ported. Note that this is more of a curiosity, even if it supports more formats Explorer's archive support is still pretty terrible and you're better off using 7-Zip. Another note is that this may be worse than usually in Windows 11, as I'm using the files from the first 11 build with this feature (23493), where MS says there are "performance issues with some formats". You can try to experiment with newer files, they may give better results or just not work at all
Though if you're interested in doing so, here's how you do this 1. Ensure you run Windows 10 20H1 or newer, this will NOT work on Windows 10 1909 and lower 3. Move the 2 .DLL files into System32, and the .MUI file into System32\en-US. Make sure you overwrite them.
4. Open a TrustedInstaller CMD (for ease), go to the folder with all the registry files, then run: for /F %i IN ('dir /b') DO %i 5. Accept all prompts 6. Log out and log back in Attachments:Desktop.7z (631.81 KB)

Sad that there are no other locales in the archive.

Sad that there are no other locales in the archive. You will need to use UUPDump local server to generate a 23493 ISO in your language. Alternatively, you can try files from newer builds, but i don't guarantee them working

Does anyone have other archives as functional as zip-folders? Do you have drag-and-drop working from the archives and full context menus of the internal elements in the archives, with "properties", etc? Do you have "Extract..." in the context menu of the archives?

I think, one has to extend Conressed (Zipped) foolder context menu shell extension ({b8cdcb65-b1bf-4b42-9428-1dfdb7ee92af}) to other file types as well via registry.
