Yes, really! I was testing the latest Windows 10 RP build, when I noticed something off... The address bar was thin! I checked ExplorerFrame, it was updated in this build. So, for testing, I decided to install LTSC 21h2 19044.1288, and put the ExplorerFrame to this build, from the Windows 10 RP build. And the address bars became thin again!

I just realized some system tray icons will be missed on this build when you have 7+ Taskbar Tweaker installed and old style icons padding enabled.
Default padding:

We've seen that bug before. Wonder what fixed it originally.

Oh, really? I assumed this build itself triggers it because it can't be seen on my real machine (it runs 19045.3693).

I ended up switching to Windows 10 22H2 because of this. I also noticed that you no longer need to disable the modern search bar in ExplorerPatcher (I was on 21H2 before this, and it was still required there), which is also the case on Windows 11 23H2, so they have changed more than just the height of the bar.
In fact, with Windhawk to disable the immersive context menu, I actually don't need EP at all anymore (as I use RetroBar for the taskbar). I just wish there was a Windows 7 classic skin for RetroBar, but the Vista classic one is good enough for the minute.

Again, it's a good news for those who wants to have classic Vista/7 style explorer since build 19045.3578 has small address bar. You can get realistic Vista/7 style explorer, combine with Aerexplorer. Some gaps are not exact but should be acceptable. It's so funny to see the fact that Microsoft fixed one of annoying thing.
Of course, address bar in the taskbar is also small (I don't think anyone uses it though). However, it has extra padding and expands the taskbar (If you have thin taskbar).
Edit: I already mentioned the same thing above but just wanted to highlight the recreation of Vista/7 style explorer.

Just confirmed that the December update for 21H2 IoT LTSC also brings back the smaller address bar. Excellent news. We're set with good options for the classic theme until 2032, regardless of what Microsoft chooses to do with Windows 11 and beyond.

Just realized you'll get quite exact gaps by enabling Glass on navigation bar in Aerexplorer.
