Due to some flaws in the Intel Iris graphics drivers for Windows 10 and 11, the Bubbles screensaver won't run at all, only showing a black screen briefly and immediately crashing. Downgrading drivers also doesn't work on my machine because the earliest driver for 13th gen has this issue too. It does work with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, but manually enabling WARP for Bubbles.scr using DXCpl didn't work. So I tried various options and found that dgVoodoo2 works perfectly for running the screensaver. Just copy Bubbles.scr to some folder other than system32, put D3D9.dll from dgVoodoo2, and optionally disable the watermark using dgVoodooCpl then copy dgVoodoo.conf to that folder. Then you can install the screensaver by right-clicking Bubbles.scr, but since Microsoft killed the ability to run screensavers on the same desktop, use something like Watch 4 Idle instead to make the background visible. The attachment is just a pre-packaged version of Bubbles.scr from Windows 10 LTSC 2021 19044.1288, D3D9.dll from dgVoodoo 2.82.2, and a config file to disable the watermark. Any version of Bubbles.scr should work; tested the one from Win7 also working fine.
