In the last couple of days I've experienced a problem more often than not: The taskbar will be partially transparent right after starting Windows. The problem is usually fixed by just restarting explorer.exe but I would really want to know what's causing the problem.
That's how it looks like:
These are the mods I use:
Classic taskbar fix has been there for a while so I don't expect it to be the culprit. The same goes for Classic theme explorer and the dwm unextended frame mod.
The UWP mod is relatively new, but I've just disabled it, logged off and back on and the taskbar is still transparent so it's not the culprit either.
The two other mods (Classic file picker and Disk pie chart) came after the problem occurred so they can't cause it either.
I really have no idea what could cause the problem...

Did you disable taskbar transparency in OpenShell?

These are the settings:
I haven't changed any settings.
And as I said, when I restart explorer.exe the taskbar will look normal again. It happens when you first start Windows (or log off and back on) but not all the time.
That's the tricky part..

You might try reinstalling/recompiling it. Your case isn't exactly the same to mine, but after most recent update taskbar buttons stopped displaying correctly, and reinstalling the mod fixed it. Not sure what's up with that or will it help you but since your problem is also taskbar related and transpired after the update, it might be worth a shot.

It seems you have enabled taskbar transparency either in Win10 settings or you have some third-party taskbar skinning software installed.

I didn't find any transparency settings in Windows 10....
I also wouldn't know which third party tool should accomplish to make the taskbar transparent, I didn't install anything lately.
The strange thing is also that it's intermittent, meaning that most of the time the taskbar isn't transparent but sometimes (especially after logging off and back on in Windows) it becomes transparent. So there is obviously one setting that prevents transparency and one that makes it transparent and the two settings seem to compete with each other.
Very strange.

This is the Transparency effect setting in the Settings app, section Personalization, Color.
Regarding the randomness of the problem, it is indeed strange. I have the same problem with the taskbar sometimes going black when logging in.

There definitely is something going on with the latest cumulative update because at least two mods (taskbar fix and immersive menu killer) just stopped working and needed a reinstall, which never happened before.

Ok, I've turned transparency off now (it was turned on). However it's still strange because of the randomness this problem occurs (as you said).
The taskbar turning black right after logging in seems to be kind of normal, though (as long as it doesn't stay black of course).

I rarely install updates because of that (i.e. problems that occur because of updates, not only with classic theme)
