Enabling native list view makes the file explorer unresponsive to double clicking. Opening a folder will perform flawlessly but opening any kind of file will take two tries to get it to work. I've been dealing with this issue for months yet I've never seen a single person mention anything like it. I haven't been able to recreate it using a virtual machine and I've even tried to reinstall Windows 10, however, the problem persists whether I am using Aerexplorer or ExplorerPatcher. Any clues to what's happening would be really appreciated.

That is very interesting! I've also experienced this behavior, however I can't say it happens every time only every now and then I need to doubleclick a file twice in order to open it.
So I don't know if it's the same problem.

Maybe he means syslistview32?
But I've also found out that without syslistview the explorer windows come up much quicker so I've disabled it entirely. ClientEdge will also be disabled when you disable syslistview, though.

I am talking about syslistview32. I always thought the two names were synonymous.

Hmm. By defaul, Syslistview32 is disabled True. I just prefer it over the default file explorer interface but it's a bummer that using it means having to deal with this jank.

What do you mean by "native"? Is there "non-native"?

True. I just prefer it over the default file explorer interface but it's a bummer that using it means having to deal with this jank. Do you use single-click or double-click opening mode ? Personally, I absolutely do not have this problem with SysListView32.
