I completely transformed my Windows install to 7. This includes: All but at most 3-4 control panel applets restored to their old counterparts Working cardspace The welcome center uDWM replacement for aero (with DWMBlurGlass) Windows 7 Defender System tray icons restored Completely silent modifications (Sadly not working) Media Center The Windows Journal restored and many other old applications Sample media from Windows 7 ISO Branding Almost identical start menu and taskbar shell:games applet restored Firefox designed to look like IE8 Windows Explorer almost identical to Windows 7 The old on-screen keyboard which also sadly won't work XPS Viewer Fully working sound schemes and themes Old context menus User Account Control And much more, that's only about 50% of it. (Thanks to MrAmayosken for making some of this with his ISO, but this is just a further customized one. Please also note some of them above were made by him in the ISO, take the Firefox mod for example) Image and short GIF:

If you used my CPL pack you are using the first version. Please grab the updated one from the thread. I dont believe so, the windhawk mod is there and the links are seven. I’ll update tho to 4.0 once its released. I am using latest If you were using the latest one Control Panel applets would have 7 sorting. For example Personalization CPL would be on the top and Display CPL would be right under it. Windows Update CPL would not be on the bottom, performance info and tools would not be visible etc etc. Even if you don't check the updates please update the windhawk mod whenever there is an update to the pack.

By the way, does the new update(s) solve the Windows Update CPL just making my mouse cursor keep spinning? I never had a problem like that. So i don't know. It didn't but also cool fact: Replacing control panel with it's 7 counterpart worked. All it did was stop "default programs" from opening a new window of the same thing when clicking on the hyperlinks in there (except for AutoPlay which works)

I want to check if it changes anything. If you're referring to the control.exe replacement, I renamed the 10 control.exe to control.exe.old, grabbed control.exe from a seven ISO, put it on my desktop, enabled 7 compatibility mode, put it in System32, restarted my PC and bam, works like a charm! It didn't really change much though.

Also note tho this PC I am using as mentioned above has many 7 replacements, even some system DLLs so that COULD be why it works on my end. No MUI was replaced because, there is no MUI

I might try the usercpl thing again. I didn't do regsvr32, and with some other stuff that was the reason why they didn't open. Maybe I could try this. Would prob have to get some regkeys but if nobody has tried it could be possible.

Sadly looks like we will have to register the shell keys. Windows still doesn't wanna up some pages.

Though all pages from the user accounts page at the moment work like a charm.
Edit: Hmm... It's saying the page failed to load now. Worked for some time and now it won't? Very odd... I will look into it.
